Vichy Idealia Fall 2014

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

If you remember Vichy Idealia Life serum (the lifeproof skin idealizer) I reviewed last year, the goal behind the Idealia line is to transform skin quality and help women reach their ideal skin, no matter their age, skin type or ethnicity.

I enjoyed the serum but hope for more products to accompany it in the line. I am excited to see  Idealia being extended this Fall with 2 new exciting products.

Up top are the 2 Idealia BB cream (Light and Medium) and at the bottom is Idealia Eyes.

Vichy Idealia BB cream is formulated with pink corrective mineral pigments and kombucha (clarity-boosting active ingredient) to moisturize, even out complexion, smooth fine lines, refine skin texture and reduce grey tone in the skin.

I do agree with the claims of a natural finish with breathable and hydrating texture. I found this BB cream is easy to blend, almost disappears on the skin once blended in and does a great job at evening out my skin tone and making it look less dull/ boring.

As with most BB creams I tried, Idealia BB cream does not offer lots of coverage, so concealer is still needed for me. Those with good skin, you would love Idealia BB cream on its own. And it lasts through my work days, no problem.

Ingredients: Water, Isononyl Isononanoate, Glycerin, Octocrylene, Homosalate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Dimethicone, Diisopropyl Sebacate, Sucrose Tristearate, Styrene/ Acrylates Copolymer, Polysorbate 61, PEG-12 Dimethicone, PEG-8 Laurate, Carbomer, Saccharomyces/ Xylinum/ Black Tea Ferment, etc.

Available in two shades - Light and Medium (swatched below), SPF25, $37 for 40ml. Note the SPF, but unless you use a good amount of it, a separate sunscreen is still recommended.

Pairing nicely with the BB cream is Idealia Eyes, the eye contour idealizer to correct dark circles, smooths fine lines and reduces shadows.

The double correction effect (optical and biological) is thanks to:
- DRM-Bright Complex + Vitamin B3 (anti flammatory, soothing), Procysteine (reduces pigmentation)
- Caffeine: decongests shaded areas
- LHA: refines skin texture
- Blurring agents: diffuse light to optically smooth and mattify skin texture
- Universal illuminators: optimize the reflection of light to eliminate shaded areas.

Check out that little applicator on the tube! It is made of soft plastic, will not hurt the eyes and makes application a lot easier.

When you squeeze the end of the tube, the product will come up through the little vent on the applicator. Run the applicator on the areas under the eyes a few times and the product spreads out nicely. Pat with fingertips if necessary.

Whatever the magic is in this little tube, it is such a joy to use. No cooling effect (plastic instead of metal applicator) but it absorbs quickly, brightens my undereyes and keeps it moisturized. Concealer goes on smoothly after it, and I need less product than usual when I have Idealia Eyes on.

Ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Isononyl Isononanoate, Alcohol Denat., Niacinamide, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Ascorbyl Glucoside, CI 77163, CI 77891, etc.

Idealia Eyes is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact-lens wearers, paraben free. The tube has 15ml, retails $39.50.

Here are the swatches of Idealia BB cream - Light and Medium, and Idealia Eyes (applied with the applicator).

I do prefer the Medium BB cream as it feels closer to my skin tone, but since it blends out invisibly, I do not have a problem with using the Light shade.

Idealia Eyes appear to have an off-white tone, compared to the Light BB cream to its far left. The texture is thicker than some other eye creams I use but again, once rubbed in, it feels like air on the skin.

Idealia continues to impress me, I have nothing bad to say about the whole line at this point, other than the price tag. Catch 'em with a sale and your skin and eyes will be happy.
